Install this extension for Google Chrome and add your favourite templates to the list. You can then navigate to any Google Drive folder and select the extension to create a copy in that location.

How does it work?

Google Editor urls can usually have /edit on the end of the file path. If you change this file path to /copy this allows you to share a copy with someone else. This extension uses this technique and automates it to allow you to maintain your own private template gallery within Google Drive.
